Imam Ragab Abdelmoneim

Imam Ragab Abdelmoneim is an Islamic scholar and community leader known for his dedication to teaching, preaching, and serving the Muslim community. He has spent many years engaged in religious education, focusing on Qur'an, Islamic studies, and character development rooted in the teachings of Islam.
 
He is recognized for his efforts in guiding youth and families through lectures, sermons, and community programs that emphasize faith, morality, and practical application of Islamic principles in daily life. His approach is centered on clarity, compassion, and strengthening the spiritual connection between individuals and their Creator.
 
Imam Ragab Abdelmoneim continues to contribute to Islamic education and community development through teaching, mentoring, and public speaking engagements, aiming to inspire positive character and a stronger understanding of Islam.

Sultaan Abdul Hamed

Sultaan Abdul Hamed is from Atlanta, Georgia. He plans to attend Savannah State University in Fall 2026, where he will major in Business, Marketing, and Finance. He has always been passionate about entrepreneurship and have started several small businesses, which taught him the value of hard work, leadership, and determination.
 
He hopes to use college as an opportunity to expand his knowledge, build meaningful connections, and step outside of his comfort zone by exploring new experiences. He is committed to achieving the goals he set for myself and aspires to build a future that inspires others to be more confident in themselves and show them that success can come from any type of beginning.

Salem Alhalhali

Salem Alhalhali is an incoming student at The University of Texas at Austin with a strong commitment to education, faith, and community service. He became a Hafiz of the Quran at the age of twelve and has earned three ijazahs in three different qira'at. Salem has used his Quranic studies and recitation skills to serve the Muslim community by leading Taraweeh prayers in masjids across Austin during Ramadan. Alongside his religious studies, he is dedicated to academic excellence and personal growth. Through his experiences in leadership and service, he has developed discipline, resilience, and a desire to positively impact others. Salem hopes to continue using his education and background to benefit both his local Muslim community and society as a whole.

Ibrahim Asif ​

Ibrahim Asif is a scholar, educator, and community leader from Baltimore, Maryland, dedicated to youth engagement and Islamic scholarship. He completed his Ḥifdh at the age of fourteen at Al-Rahmah Qur’an Academy before pursuing advanced Islamic studies through the Alimiyyah program at DarusSalam Seminary in Chicago. He later completed his final year at Jaamiah al-Uloom al-Islamiyyah in Pakistan, receiving ijāzāt in Hadith and the traditional Islamic sciences.

Ibrahim has traveled extensively across North America, delivering lectures, leading educational programs, and engaging with Muslim communities and youth. His work focuses on connecting classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary challenges in a meaningful and accessible way. He serves in the Diyanet Cneter of America as an Imam, and leads youth initiatives and educational outreach programs. Ibrahim is currently in his final year of his masters program in Islamic studies and theology at the American Islamic College. 

Ali Irhabi ​

Ali Irhabi is a finance major at the University of Houston with minors in chemistry and biology, pursuing a career in medicine. He is a certified Clinical Medical Assistant and Patient Care Technician who conducts NIH-funded cardiovascular research focused on cardiac regeneration, specifically using modified mRNA technology to instruct damaged heart cells to repair themselves after a heart attack. He also leads an independently funded research study at UH investigating how inhibitory control and aging influence false hearing, the phenomenon in which the brain confidently perceives words that were never spoken. On campus, Ali manages financial operations for the UH Muslim Student Association and serves as a UH Ambassador. He has served as lead youth coordinator at his masjid in The Woodlands for over four years. Ali is deeply grateful for this scholarship and for his parents' sacrifices and support. He is committed to serving his community through medicine.

Ruqayyah Lunat 

Ruqayyah Lunat is a student at Zaytuna College, where she is pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts and Islamic Studies. Deeply passionate about reading, writing, learning, and teaching, she has long been committed to serving her community through active involvement in her local madrassah. Through these experiences, Ruqayyah recognized the growing need for stronger and more accessible Islamic institutions that can nurture future generations with knowledge, guidance, and compassion. Believing that meaningful service begins with a strong foundation of personal understanding, she chose to attend Zaytuna College to deepen both her academic and spiritual growth. Ruqayyah hopes to use the education and mentorship she receives to give back to the communities that have shaped her journey. After graduation, she aspires to pursue a career centered on advocacy, education, and community support, empowering and uplifting those who follow in her footsteps.

Amna Makic

Amna Makic is a dedicated student passionate about helping others and supporting her local community. She plans to continue to make a positive contribution through service and volunteer work. Recognized for her empathy and generosity, Amna actively volunteers at local events including those hosted by her mosque, and spends her weekends teaching children in Sunday School. Beyond academics and community involvement, she enjoys cooking, reading, and embroidery stitching. Amna intends on continuing her academic journey at Grand Valley State University, and looks forward to the opportunities and experiences she will encounter along the way. She anticipates seeing what the near future has planned for her; and hopes to create a meaningful impact on the world.

​Afeefah Mangera

Afeefah Mangera is a student at Western Governors University pursuing a BA in Elementary and K-12 Special Education while continuing her studies in Islamic scholarship. Alhumdulillah, she completed her Hifdh while excelling academically as a dual-enrolled student, graduating at the top of her class and delivering the commencement speech. Passionate about Islamic education and youth development, Afeefah is committed to addressing the identity challenges facing Muslim youth by nurturing Islamic values alongside academic excellence. She hopes to bridge that gap by combining her background in Islamic studies with her professional training.
 
Afeefah aspires to establish an inclusive Islamic school that supports learners, including students with special educational needs, while integrating authentic Islamic studies with quality education. She also hopes to pursue advanced studies in curriculum and educational leadership to continue better serving Muslim communities. Inspired by her parents’ example, Afeefah is devoted to uplifting communities with sincerity and compassion, InshaAllah.

Ameerah Mangeera

Ameerah Mangeera is an aspiring Information Technology student preparing to start the Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master’s program at Western Governors University. She completed her Hifz while enrolled in both high school and college. This achievement strengthened her discipline and deepened her commitment to Islamic education. Growing up closely connected to her masjid, she continues to see challenges like weakened iman, digital misinformation, and identity struggles among Muslim youth. These experiences inspired her to pursue a career where technology serves as a guide rather than a source of confusion. Ameerah hopes to create safe, engaging digital spaces, such as Islamic learning apps and online community platforms, that help young Muslims stay connected to their faith. She aims to combine her future technical skills with her commitment to community service, using technology to uplift the next generation spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually.

Iesa Patel

Iesa Patel is a Civil Engineering student at the University of Houston. He is expected to graduate in 2028. Iesa has also completed his Hifdh (memorization of the Quran). His father has been an imam at Madina Masjid on Westheimer since the 90s and teaches at HAMD institute. Iesa has also devoted much of his time to his community, following the footsteps of his father. Outside of academics, Iesa enjoys gardening and has a passion for vehicles. He currently works in the automotive field as a collision estimator. He is passionate about his degree and hopes to apply it to bring benefit to his community.

Eman Shehata

Eman Shehata is a mother of two beautiful girls who inspire her every day to work hard and continue her education. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting because she has a strong passion for helping others and making a positive impact in her community. With years of experience working with people through tax services and financial support, she has seen how important financial knowledge and guidance can be for families and small businesses. Her goal is to use her accounting degree to give back to the community by helping individuals better understand their finances, make informed decisions, and achieve financial stability. She believes education, honesty, and compassion are important values in both business and life. Through her future career, she hopes to continue serving others while creating a positive example for her children and the community around her.

​​Ashiatu Swarray

​Ashiatu Swarray is an 18-year-old student at Widener University. She is studying nursing and is an upcoming sophomore. She was born and raised in Sierra Leone, West Africa. She came to the United States at the age of ten. She has two siblings, an older brother and a younger sister. She loves Allah, she is a born Muslim, but fell in love with Islam in High School. She strives to be a better student, sister, daughter, friend, and to become someone that Allah is pleased with. She is family-oriented and wants to make her parents proud one day. Ashiatu wants to become a pediatric nurse. Ashiatu loves children; she enjoys being around and taking care of them. She hopes that in the next 3 years she will graduate from Widener as a nurse and, inshallah, start working at a hospital.

​Barirah Uddin ​

​Barirah Uddin is a dedicated and hardworking student with a strong passion for Islamic studies, education, and community service. She completed the two‑year Sheikh Al‑Hind program and is continuing her academic journey through Alimah studies and Qur'an memorization. Barirah enjoys teaching children, reading poetry, and exploring Arabic grammar and literature, all of which deepen her connection to the Islamic scholarly tradition.
 
Alongside her academic pursuits, Barirah values staying active. She enjoys playing sports and proudly supports her favorite NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
 
Her commitment to learning and serving others earned her various awards recognizing her perseverance, leadership, and academic excellence. Barirah hopes to use her education to inspire younger students and make a meaningful impact through teaching, mentorship, and community involvement.

Tasnim Uddin

Tasnim Uddin is a Bengali-American student currently enrolled in the five-year accelerated Physician Assistant program at University of Detroit Mercy. Raised by parents who valued both Islamic and academic education, she has dedicated herself to pursuing both. Alongside her academic studies, Tasnim is also completing her Alimah education while teaching Islamic studies to students in her community.
 
Growing up in an underserved community shaped her passion for healthcare equity and advocacy. Through tutoring at local mosques, she recognized and actively addressed the impact of limited access to healthcare and education, supporting young women in her community.
 
In Fall 2026, Tasnim will begin PA school and, In sha Allah, hopes to become a practicing PA-C dedicated to serving underserved American Muslim communities through both healthcare and Islamic education. She is deeply honored to receive the Imam Scholarship and grateful for the investment in her future service to the Ummah.

Mosaab Zein

Mosaab Zein is an Egyptian Muslim from Allentown, Pennsylvania, a hafiz of the Quran, and an incoming Biology student at DeSales University on the pre-medicine track. A graduate of Parkland High School and a student at Al-Azhar, he founded his school's Muslim Prayer Club, led Jumu'ah prayer and delivered Khutbas to his peers, and led Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers across three masajid. He also taught Arabic to over 50 students weekly for four years and volunteered more than 120 hours at St. Luke's Health Network and the Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley's free clinic. Rooted in his faith and a deep commitment to community service, Mosaab aspires to become a physician dedicated to underserved populations. He is honored to carry this scholarship's legacy forward.
